At many places, such as hotels and other services, people submit photocopies of their Aadhaar cards for Aadhaar verification, and these copies are physically stored there. The UIDAI is now preparing to eliminate this old system.
The UIDAI is working on a plan to completely phase out paper-based Aadhaar verification to ensure document security and prevent misuse.

The UIDAI is soon implementing a major change in the way Aadhaar verification is performed. Submitting photocopies of Aadhaar cards will no longer be necessary, as paper-based verification is being phased out. A new digital system will replace it. Any entity wishing to verify Aadhaar will need to be registered with UIDAI. Aadhaar verification can also be done using a QR code or mobile app.
UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar stated that this rule has been approved and will be implemented soon. Apart from this, UIDAI is also going to launch a new app, through which app to app Aadhaar verification will be possible and the need to ask for Aadhaar photocopy will be completely eliminated.
