UP Rain Alert! Rain wreaks havoc in UP, 30 districts on high alert; 12 killed, school-college closed for 2 days

It is raining heavily in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. Incessant rain is now becoming a problem. The Meteorological Department has issued high alert for 30 districts.

In Uttar Pradesh, many districts including the capital Lucknow have been receiving torrential rains for the last two days. Incessant rain has now become a cause of trouble. The condition is that the Meteorological Department has put 30 districts on high alert. 12 people are reported to have died due to heavy rains. According to the Meteorological Department, it will continue to rain in this manner till Saturday, September 18. In view of the threat of rain, the state government is also in action. The state government has decided to keep all schools and colleges closed for 2 days. Now all educational institutions will open on Monday.

Heavy rain in these districts

Since Thursday morning, rain is continuing in many districts including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Sultanpur, Bhadohi, Ghazipur, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Chitrakoot, Bahraich, Banda, Deoria, Etawah, Fatehpur. Lightning is also flashing with strong winds. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to remain like this till Saturday 18 September. Due to the rain in many districts including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, there has been a situation of waterlogging in the roads and colonies. Red alert has been issued for heavy rain in 30 districts of UP.

In view of the heavy rains in many districts of the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all the Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to conduct relief work with full readiness. The CM has also asked the officials to visit the affected area and keep an eye on the relief work. Along with this, instructions have been given to keep all educational institutions including schools and colleges in the state closed for 2 days i.e. on 17th and 18th September.

The state government has given instructions that immediate relief should be provided to the affected people. In case of water logging, arrangement for drainage should be made on priority. Instructions have also been issued to the officers of the respective districts to assess the damage caused by this disaster. Due to the torrential rains in Lucknow, the District Magistrate has also issued instructions to leave the house only when absolutely necessary. Avoid going to congested and traffic jam areas and stay away from open sewer and electric wire poles.

There has been a sudden drop in temperature due to rain. The maximum temperature in Lucknow was recorded at 25 degree Celsius. Same is the case with other districts.
