UP Schools Closed: In view of the severe cold and dense fog in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, the district administration has announced the closure of all schools from nursery to eighth grade. The order declares December 24th and 26th a holiday for schools across all boards in the district. Schools will reopen directly on December 29th.
The district administration issued this order in light of the severe cold and fog. Following this, the BSA issued related instructions to all schools. BSA Asha Chaudhary stated that this decision was taken due to the cold weather in the district. She added that the administration has declared December 24th and 26th a holiday. December 25th will be a holiday due to Christmas.
Schools will remain closed until December 29th.
December 27th is Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary, so a holiday has already been declared for this occasion. December 28th will be a Sunday, so schools will reopen directly on Monday, December 29th. However, all classes from class 9th to 12th will continue to be conducted regularly at the scheduled time.
Decision made in view of severe cold
Previously, school timings in Meerut were also changed due to the cold weather. According to the revised timings, schools are currently operating from 10 am to 3 pm. The district administration has instructed all schools to strictly follow the order. Action may be taken against schools that do not comply.
It should be noted that Uttar Pradesh is experiencing severe cold these days. Dense fog has also been observed for the past few days, causing significant difficulties for young schoolchildren. The Meteorological Department has predicted that there will be no relief from the fog for the next four days. Therefore, this decision by the district administration has brought relief to parents.
