About UPI Lite
Through UPI Lite X, users can make payments even in places without internet connectivity. This service proves to be very helpful in areas where there are network problems. Through this feature, you will be able to easily do things like phone recharge even without internet. You will not have to depend on the internet.
UPI Lite X works with support for Near Field Communication (NFC). Apart from this, it is also much faster than other payment platforms.
Benefits of UPI LITE
- In this, offline payment can be done easily.
- Payment can be made easily even at places with less or poor network (like flights, parking, trekking points etc.).
- Chances of payment success are higher in UPI Lite X. This means that payment does not stop in this.
How to use UPI Lite
You can easily enable UPI Lite X feature on BHIM app. To use this feature, both the user and the receiver must have an Android smartphone with NFC support. Apart from this, the latest version of BHIM app should be installed in the smartphones of receiver and sender.
How to enable UPI Lite X feature
- Open BHIM app and go to ‘UPI Lite X Balance’ menu.
- Now click on ‘Enable’ tap and give permission by clicking on the toggle of the tick box for offline payment.
- After this you have to add funds in UPI Lite wallet.
- Now click on ‘Enable UPI Lite X’ and enter the UPI PIN.
- After this, as soon as the funds are added to your UPI Lite wallet, you can easily use UPI Lite X.
How will payment be done through UPI Lite
- Open your UPI based app.
- Now click on Tap & Pay icon inside the app.
- After this fill the payment amount.
- Now tap your mobile device on the receiver’s device.
- After this you have to do OK. Please note that UPI PIN is not required for payment.
