Vande Bharat Sleeper: A major update has finally arrived regarding the sleeper version of Vande Bharat, the country’s most premium travel destination. After years of anticipation and multiple launch date postponements, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has confirmed that this luxury sleeper train will be launched next December. This means that passengers’ dreams of comfortable, fast, and high-tech train travel are about to come true.

According to a Moneycontrol report, Ashwini Vaishnav stated that some minor issues were found during testing of the first rake of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. Therefore, some changes were recommended to the bogies, seats, and passenger amenities. Work on all these improvements is now progressing rapidly. The Railway Minister stated that while the changes may be small, they are being taken very seriously as our goal is to ensure a comfortable journey for passengers. He also stated that nothing will be rushed in order to ensure this train becomes a wonderful train for generations to come.

First Rake Returned to BEML

BEML, which manufactures the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains, has confirmed that the prototype rake has been returned to them for retrofitting. The train underwent several rounds of testing and trials under the supervision of the RDSO and the Railway Safety Commissioner. According to a BEML official, since it is a prototype, it is natural that extensive testing will be conducted on all safety and comfort standards. All suggested changes are being implemented.

New Standards of Safety and Comfort

In a letter to the RDSO, the Railway Ministry stated that several significant changes will be made to future trains, including arc fault detection devices for fire safety, new AC duct locations, fire-survival cables for CCTV, third-party audits to European fire and crash standards, and new positions for emergency alarm buttons. Improvements are also being made to train furnishing and workmanship.
