Vande Bharat Train Updates: The Ministry of Railways issued a statement on Thursday saying that the operation of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is sure to revolutionize long distance travel. This train is a state-of-the-art and important contribution to India’s rapidly growing railway fleet. On January 15, the first set of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train successfully completed the test by Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route covering a distance of 540 km. Let us tell you that this train had 16 coaches.
The Railway Ministry said, “The RDSO will issue the final certificate after analysing the results of the trials before India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train begins operating. The Commissioner of Railway Safety will test the train at its maximum speed.”
Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory (ICF) will roll out the first set of Vande Bharat Sleeper train in December 2024. In the first week of January this year, the train conducted short trials of 30-40 km in Kota, in which it experienced a comfortable travel experience at a speed of 180 kmph.
