To deal with the huge problem of pollution in the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a new plan on Tuesday. Under the Air Pollution Mitigation Plan 2025, the government has taken many big decisions. The government has made it clear that vehicles spreading pollution will no longer be allowed entry into Delhi.

Which vehicles will be allowed entry, when will the new order be implemented

The Delhi government has announced that only BS-VI, CNG and electric vehicles will be allowed entry into the capital. However, this order will apply only to commercial cargo vehicles. The Pollution Mitigation Plan 2025 states that only those transport/commercial cargo vehicles will be allowed entry into Delhi which are BS-VI, CNG and electric. Vehicles already registered in Delhi will be exempted.

Exemption to car-bike auto

Cars, bikes, autos or other passenger vehicles have not been kept under the purview of the ban order. Entry of these vehicles has not been banned. If you live in NCR and your car is BS-IV then you do not need to worry.

Ban on end-of-life vehicles

There is a ban on 15-year-old petrol and 10-year-old diesel vehicles in Delhi-NCR. These vehicles will be identified and curbed. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Chief Minister of Delhi said that ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras will be installed on all the borders of Delhi. As soon as any such vehicle comes in the range of these cameras, it will be immediately known that this vehicle has completed its valid age and is spreading pollution. Such vehicles will be immediately identified and stopped. From July 1, 2025, such cameras will also start working at all petrol pumps. The government has already said that these vehicles will no longer be given fuel.

Warning will be given on phone

The Chief Minister said that we will have the data of the vehicles of Delhi and neighboring states which are end of life. The Delhi government will send a warning through WhatsApp and message that your vehicle is moving towards the end of life, they will no longer be able to get entry.
