Virat Kohli and Kuldeep Yadav’s early morning Bhasma Aarti at the Mahakaleshwar Temple has captured everyone’s attention. This spiritual journey by Virat Kohli ahead of the decisive ODI against New Zealand is gaining attention.
Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli’s spiritual connection has deepened over the past few years. Away from the pressures and noise of the field, he is now frequently seen visiting temples and religious sites. A similar scene unfolded on Saturday morning when Kohli, along with Team India spinner Kuldeep Yadav and fielding coach T. Dilip, visited the famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain.
Virat arrived at Mahakal’s court at 4 a.m.
Virat and Kuldeep arrived at the Mahakal Temple around 4 a.m. Saturday. Both players participated in the Bhasma Aarti and sat in the Nandi Hall for nearly two hours, offering prayers to Lord Mahakal. During the puja, temple priests applied a sandalwood tilak to his forehead. Virat appeared extremely calm and simple in the temple premises.
The video of the darshan went viral on social media.
In a video shared by news agency ANI, Virat Kohli and Kuldeep Yadav were seen performing puja. While leaving the temple, Virat greeted the media with “Jai Shri Mahakal.” Amid tight security, the two players emerged from the temple, where people present captured the moment on their cameras.
Kuldeep Yadav shares his experience
After the darshan, Kuldeep Yadav shared his experience, saying that the darshan of Mahakal gives him deep peace and joy. He said that he had the opportunity to visit here again after nearly nine years. According to Kuldeep, with God’s grace, everything is going well and the team will perform well in the future.
Players have visited Mahakal’s court before
This is not the first time that members of Team India have visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple. Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir and wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul have also visited the temple. Virat Kohli himself visited Mahakal in 2023 with his wife Anushka Sharma.
Virat’s record-breaking performance in the Vadodara ODI
Before visiting the Mahakal temple, Virat Kohli batted brilliantly in the first ODI played in Vadodara. In this match played on January 11th, Virat scored 93 runs and set several major records. He became the fastest to reach 28,000 international runs, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. With this, Virat also surpassed Kumar Sangakkara to become the second-highest run-scorer in international cricket.
All eyes are now on the decisive match of the series to be played in Indore, where Virat will once again try to lead Team India to victory with his performance.
