Vi has expanded its 5G network and launched service in 9 new cities. The company is now providing 5G connectivity in 17 circles and with this, an offer of unlimited 5G data has also been introduced for Rs 299. This move of Vi is a big update towards providing faster internet service and better network coverage in India.
Vi’s 5G service: Vodafone Idea (Vi) is launching its 5G services in 9 new cities, which is part of its expansion to 17 circles and 23 new cities. With this launch, the company is offering unlimited 5G data for Rs 299, which is an introductory offer. The company said that users in these cities will get the experience of high-definition streaming, gaming, video conferencing, fast download and real-time cloud access. This move has been taken a few weeks after the company talked about 5G rollout in Mysore and a month after the launch in Bengaluru.
5G services started in 9 cities
Vi said in a series of press releases that it is launching 5G service in 9 new cities, including Meerut, Mallapuram, Kozhikode, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nashik, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara. Most of these cities are from Gujarat, but the list also includes two from Kerala, two from Maharashtra and one from Uttar Pradesh. The service has gone live in all these cities, except Meerut, where it will go live from tomorrow.
With this new launch, the number of Vi’s 5G cities has now increased to 18. The company says that it is expanding its 5G coverage in 23 cities and 17 priority circles. Earlier, the company was providing 5G service in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mysore, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Sonipat and Patna. In such a situation, it is expected that the remaining five cities will also be launched soon.
Along with this, the company has also introduced an introductory offer of unlimited 5G data on prepaid plans starting at Rs 299. The company says that in the newly added circles, users will get high-definition streaming, gaming, video calling, fast download and cloud access.
Apart from this, India’s third largest telecom company Vi also said that it has partnered with Nokia and Ericsson to use AI-based self-organizing networks (SON) to optimize network performance in different cities. The company has also upgraded its 4G network in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh to provide better coverage and faster data speeds.
