In Ayodhya tomorrow, on August 5, Bhoomi Poojan is going to be done for the construction of Ram temple. Its preparations have been completed. At the same time, the process of giving donations for temple construction is also going on. If you are thinking of donating too, then you need to know one rule.
Actually, in the last month of May, the Finance Ministry issued a notification. According to this notification, those who donate to the Ram temple in Ayodhya will be exempted from tax.
This exemption will be given only after donating to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Meaning if you donate elsewhere, you cannot take advantage of this rebate.
Let us know that ‘Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’ was built for the temple construction and through this trust all donations are being taken.
It means to say that if you are going to donate, then it will be mandatory to get the receipt of the donation from the trust, only then you can claim the income tax exemption.
This receipt should contain the name of the trust, address, PAN, name of the donor and details of the amount of donation. This exemption will be given by the Finance Ministry under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
Under this rule, any person, HUF or company can take tax exemption on donations made to any fund or charitable institution. However, the conditions fixed in donating have to be taken care of. This contribution can be made through check or cash.
