Rain and Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh

Fresh snowfall in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and continuous downpours in many parts have intensified the cold. Road connectivity has been disrupted, forcing people to remain indoors. Several major roads in the district have been closed due to heavy snowfall and inclement weather. Police have warned travelers to avoid unnecessary travel. About half an inch of light snow was recorded in Darcha, while intermittent light snowfall occurred in Keylong, Kaza, and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, rain is falling in lower areas like Udaipur and Tindi, keeping the weather cool and humid. The sharp drop in temperatures has prompted people to shop for woolen clothes, almost two months ahead of the normal winter season. The streets were deserted as most people remained indoors. Thick clouds covered the sky since morning, obscuring the sun.
