Weather Update: Cold will increase rapidly from this date in North India including Delhi-NCR, bonfires will have to be lit

IMD Weather Update: The Meteorological Department was earlier predicting that it might get cold in the last week of October this year, but it did not happen. Due to Dana cyclone, a rain alert was issued in Bihar-UP.

IMD Weather Update: Every year people take out warm clothes before Diwali, but this time such a situation has not arisen. However, mild cold is being felt in the morning in many states including North India. The Dana cyclone in Odisha and West Bengal reversed the cold conditions. This cyclone prevented the cold winds coming from the mountains from coming to North India including Delhi, due to which the temperature of these areas increased. Talking about Delhi, the temperature here remained 20 degrees Celsius till the day and the maximum temperature remained around 36 degrees.

Severe cold may occur from this date

According to the Meteorological Department, mild cold will be felt in the morning and evening for a week after Diwali. According to the Meteorological Department, the phase of rapid increase in cold may start around November 15. IMD says that this year there is a possibility of very cold in India due to La Nina. Due to La Nina, the temperature of the sea becomes cold, which affects the global climate. Its effect is very high in northern states like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. According to the World Meteorological Organization, from October 2024 to February 2025, there is a possibility that the intensity of La Nina will increase by 60 percent.

The effect of La-Nina will be seen in November

The Meteorological Department was earlier predicting that it could get cold in the last week of October this year, but it did not happen. However, the Indian Meteorological Department is still saying that this time the temperature is likely to be lower than normal in winter. US agency NOAA has predicted that there is a 60 percent chance of La-Nina forming at the end of November. La-Nina or El-Nino effect is caused by the increase or decrease in temperature at both ends of the ocean. La-Nina causes good rainfall in India and the opposite happens in El-Nino.

Rain alert in Bihar-UP

Due to Dana cyclone, the weather has changed in Bihar even before Diwali. Due to this cyclone in West Bengal and Odisha, the period of rain is intense in the districts of Bihar. Due to Dana cyclone, light clouds are expected to remain in the sky for 12 to 24 hours every day till October 30. Light rain or drizzle may also occur at some places.

Talking about the weather of Uttar Pradesh, it is hot during the day and slightly cold at night. A rain alert has been issued in eastern UP during the next 24 hours.
