According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a new western disturbance will be active from February 3, due to which rain and dense fog will be seen in 20 states across the country.

Delhi-NCR may receive light rain on February 3 and 4 and the sky will remain cloudy. The maximum temperature is likely to be 24 to 27 ° C while the minimum temperature is 10 to 12 ° C. According to the IMD, light cold winds will blow, due to which the morning and evening will remain cool. Till February 7, mild heat will be felt during the day and cold in the morning and evening.

In which states will it rain?

According to the IMD, cyclonic circulation is formed in northern Pakistan and eastern Rajasthan. Due to this, there will be rain in North-West India from February 3.

States with rain and snowfall:

Light to moderate rain and snowfall is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between February 3 and 5. Light rain is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan between February 3-5, while Lakshadweep is likely to receive thunderstorms and light rain.

Which states will have dense fog?

Due to the effect of western disturbance, fog will be seen in the morning and evening. IMD has issued a fog alert for these states.

North India: Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh

East India: Bihar, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal

North-East India: Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura

Himalayan region: Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim

Delhi-NCR will also have light fog, which will make the morning and evening feel cool.

Delhi’s air quality

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 355 at 6:9 pm, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category. An AQI between zero to 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 satisfactory, 101 to 200 moderate, 201 to 300 poor, 301 to 400 very poor and 401 to 500 severe.
