Weather Updates: Heavy rain alert in several states amid cold wave; know the weather conditions across the country including Delhi and UP

IMD Weather Updates: Severe cold and a cold wave continue to grip much of the country. The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog alert for several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Northeast India. An orange cold wave alert has been issued for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and southern Uttar Pradesh, while a yellow rain alert has been issued for Tamil Nadu and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

IMD Weather Updates: As the cold wave intensifies across the country, most areas are experiencing a chill and a chill. The cold wave has engulfed more than half of India, sending temperatures plummeting. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert in several states.

According to the Meteorological Department, dense to very dense fog is very likely to prevail in some areas of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh during the morning hours of December 16th and 17th.

Dense fog is expected today in several areas of Northeast India, including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh. The IMD has issued an orange cold wave alert for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and southern Uttar Pradesh. A yellow rain alert has also been issued for Tamil Nadu and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rainfall expected in hilly states

According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, the weather in Jammu and Kashmir is rapidly changing. The state will remain dry until December 17th. Cloudy skies are expected on December 17th and 18th. Light rain and snowfall are expected from December 20th and 21st with the onset of Chillai Kalan. Snowfall and rain are also expected in parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the next few days.

Bone-chilling cold in Rajasthan

The minimum temperature in Rajasthan has dropped to around 5 degrees Celsius. Light fog is expected in eastern and western Rajasthan. A cold wave is expected to intensify the chill in many areas.

A Double Attack of Cold in Delhi

The capital Delhi is experiencing a cold wave accompanied by fog. Due to air pollution, the sky is hazy. However, the fog and pollution levels are less pronounced compared to yesterday. According to the Meteorological Department, winds are expected to blow at a speed of 10-15 kilometers per hour in Delhi today, and light fog is expected on December 16-17.

Fog wreaks havoc in Uttar Pradesh

The Meteorological Department has predicted dense fog in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. This list includes Meerut, Saharanpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Shamli, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad, Bareilly, and Pilibhit, along with several surrounding districts.

Fog to cover Bihar

The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog alert for Gaya, Begusarai, Darbhanga, Purnia, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Aurangabad, and Rajgir districts in Bihar, along with surrounding districts. Visibility will be significantly reduced, and people have been warned to exercise caution while traveling.
