Western Disturbance Active: According to the reports of the Meteorological Centre and the Indian Meteorological Department, the series of rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand may continue due to the activation of the Western Disturbance.
Western Disturbance Active: The weather in Uttarakhand is set to change today. Rain and snowfall are expected in five districts. According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain is possible in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Rudraprayag districts, while snowfall is also expected in the higher elevations. This will cause temperatures to drop and cold to increase in the plains of the state.
This change in weather could significantly impact the Chardham Yatra. Travelers are advised to stay safe and take necessary precautions, informing them about the weather. Rain and snowfall can make the roads, especially on mountainous routes, slippery, increasing the risk of accidents. Therefore, travelers must remain vigilant.
Rain and Snowfall Alert
The Meteorological Center has stated that this rain and snowfall trend is likely to continue due to the active Western Disturbance. Consequently, the mountainous districts of Uttarakhand will experience less sunshine and cloudy skies for the next few days.
Although the weather is expected to improve from October 23rd to 27th, it will be necessary to observe precautions against heavy rain or snowfall until then.
