Almost all telecom companies have reduced the validity of prepaid mobile recharge to 28 days. Some companies are also offering 24-day validity. Now TRAI can issue a new order regarding this validity. It is being said in media reports that the Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) can issue a consultation paper on many other problems including validity.

Validity can increase

Through the consultation paper, TRAI will now seek feedback from all stakeholders. If all the stakeholders give unanimous opinion, then TRAI can order these telecom companies to make necessary changes.

Currently the billing cycle for postpaid customers is 30 days. Prepaid customers get validity up to 24 days, 28 days, 56 days and 84 days only.

Prepaid customers can get relief

It is being said that a consultation paper will be issued by TRAI in this regard by next week. In such a situation, in terms of telecom subscribers, they can get a big relief.




Most of the plans of many companies are about the data pack. Customers do not get special options for voice call recharge.

Opinion on increasing voice call recharge

This will also be mentioned in the consultation paper. It can also be said that more and more voice packs are available to the customers.

In fact, with the changing times, the telecom companies have made many changes in the mobile recharge plan in the last few years.

Some MPs had also raised minimum mobile recharge and 28 days validity. He said that when the monthly bill should be of 30 days, then why it has been reduced to 28 days. This is causing loss to customers. After this, TRAI will now review tariff plans of telecom companies.

TRAI will ask for these two things in the consultation paper

All stake holders will be consulted to increase the validity of the mobile recharge plan from 28 days to 30 days. If a consensus is formed on this, then all the companies will be ordered to make the necessary changes.

Opinions have also been sought on increasing the number of voice call packs to telecom companies. At the moment, telecom companies pay special attention to the data pack for the customers.
