Women Schemes: The central government is implementing many schemes with the aim of providing financial empowerment to women. One of them is the ‘Mahila Samman Savings Certificate’ (MSSC). The central government has introduced this scheme to attract women towards investment.
This Mahila Samman Savings Certificate Scheme has been introduced specifically for women, offering attractive returns on investments made by women. This scheme, announced by the Government of India in the Union Budget 2023, is a pillar of support for women.
Through this scheme, a deposit facility of up to Rs. 2 lakh is being provided in the name of women or girls for a period of 2 years. High interest is paid on this. This scheme is available in many banks along with the post office. This scheme, which was launched in 2023, will be available for two years, i.e. till March 2025.
The central government has brought this scheme aimed at women investors. Those who invest in this scheme will receive a fixed interest of 7.5 percent per annum. The interest is calculated every 3 months. Later, this amount is credited to the account. Any woman has been allowed to join this scheme.
To join the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC) scheme, the account must be opened in the name of the woman. The account can be opened by being the guardian for children and other minors. This scheme has already received an overwhelming response from women.
