We are almost at the end of 2022. This year has been quite good for the Indian automotive scene considering the effects of the pandemic and global chip shortage. However, the action is not going to stop, and we could see a sleeve of new products at the Auto Expo of 2023. In today’s article, let’s talk about the top new cars coming in January 2023.

Maruti Baleno Cross

Maruti is working on an SUV based on the Baleno. For now, it has been codenamed the YTB, and its production version could be called the Baleno Cross. The YTB will be a coupe SUV with a tapering roofline and will have a higher ground clearance than the Baleno. It will also come loaded with features to take on the competition.

Tata Punch EV

Tata has taken big strides in the EV segment. Last month, Tata unveiled the Tiago EV, the most affordable EV in the Indian market. So what’s next? Tata could unveil the Punch EV at the Auto Expo of 2023. The Punch EV could get some blue highlights on the exterior and new colours. Specification-wise, it could share its battery and motor with the Tigor EV.

New cars January 2023- MG Air EV

Another mass-market EV on the list is MG’s Air EV. It will be quite a unique product as it will be a compact two-door four-seater hatchback. Being a compact car, it will be predominantly a city car. According to reports, it could get a claimed range of 200km to 300km on a single charge. Other than that, it will come with premium features and an interior to attract customers.

Hyundai Creta facelift

The Hyundai Creta needs no introduction in the Indian market. The new-generation Creta was launched at the Auto Expo of 2020 and we expect Hyundai to unveil its facelift at the Auto Expo of 2023. This new Creta could get a new design and several new features like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).

Kia Seltos facelift

Following the Creta is its Kia sibling, the Seltos. The Seltos is also due for an update considering it has been practically the same since its launch in 2019. Kia has already unveiled the Seltos facelift in South Korea. This facelifted model gets some subtle design changes and new interiors. Also, the South Korean model gets ADAS functionality.

Tata Harrier facelift

The Harrier has been quite an important product in Tata’s portfolio. Since its launch in 2019, Tata has fine-tuned the Harrier into a better product. However, now it will be giving the Harrier a facelift. In this facelift, the Harrier could get some subtle design changes and new features like a new infotainment system with a 360-degree camera. Tata is also expected to load ADAS in the Harrier facelift.

New cars January 2023 – Tata Harrier EV

Tata is aiming big in the EV segment as it is working on the Harrier EV. According to a report, the Harrier EV is already in the ‘Alpha’ testing phase. The same report states that Tata could launch the Harrier EV in 2023. So the Auto Expo will be the perfect time for Tata to unveil the concept.

Tata Safari facelift

Like the Harrier, the Safari will also be getting a facelift. The Safari facelift will also be getting a new design. Will it be different from the Harrier facelift? Only time will tell. Other than that, we could expect some new features. The Safari facelift will also get ADAS functionality to better take on the XUV700.

Toyota Innova HyCross

Toyota is also working on the new generation Innova. The new Innova will be based on the new TNGA-C platform. It will also be a front-wheel drive vehicle. Other than that, it will be quite premium with new features like a panoramic sunroof, Toyota Safety Sense, powered tailgate, ambient lighting etc. Toyota will be unveiling the car at the Auto Expo for the general public. We might see an unveil later this month.

New cars January 2023- Maruti Jimny 5-door

The last car on the list is one of the most anticipated models in India. Maruti is working on the 5-door Jimny for the Indian market. The car has been spotted testing in India. Maruti is retaining the overall silhouette of the 3-door Jimny, but the 5-door could get some subtle design changes. Other than that, it could also get several features to better take on the Thar and Gurkha.
