Due to increase in waiting list, Indian Railways has started two special trains from Gorakhpur to Mumbai and Anand Vihar on 7-9 December, booking has started on IRCTC, the number of trips will increase as per requirement.
New Delhi. Due to high waiting lists, Indian Railways has decided to operate two trains from Delhi and Mumbai to Gorakhpur. Both trains have more AC coaches to ensure passengers do not face any inconvenience in the cold. The Railways has released the schedules for both trains, which will depart on December 7th.
The first train is for Mumbai. Train number 05587 Gorakhpur-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Special will depart from Gorakhpur at 11:25 pm on December 7th. It will reach Mumbai at 9:00 am on December 9th via Basti, Gonda, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Bhopal, Itarsi, Khandwa, Bhusaval, Nashik, Igatpuri, and Kalyan. On the return journey, train number 05588 will depart from Mumbai at 11:00 am on December 9th and arrive in Gorakhpur at 8:15 pm on December 10th. It has one First AC coach, two Second AC coaches, eight Third AC coaches, four Sleeper coaches, and four General coaches.
The second train is for Delhi. Train No. 05591 Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Special will depart Gorakhpur on December 7th and 8th at 6:00 PM. It will travel via Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, and Ghaziabad, arriving in Anand Vihar at 7:30 AM the next morning. Return train No. 05592 will depart Delhi on December 8th and 9th at 10:00 AM and arrive in Gorakhpur at 11:45 PM. This fully AC train is a special train.
Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, stated that these special trains are being operated, ensuring passengers receive confirmed seats. Booking for both trains has begun on the IRCTC app and at counters. According to Indian Railways, more trips will be added if needed. For this, the Railways is using AI to determine the number of passengers and their destination stations.
