1. Ujjayi Pranayama or Ocean Breath
The word Ujjayi Pranayam is derived from the Sanskrit word “Ujjayi”, which means to win. In this breathing technique, you have to take a deep breath from both the nasal and semi-closed glottis.

Do it this way:

Step 1. Sit on the ground in any meditation posture keeping your eyes closed and spine straight.

Step 2. While feeling the air passing through your trachea, take long breaths in and out of your mouth.

Step 3. Once you are comfortable with exhaling your breath, shrink the back of your throat to obstruct the passage of air. Your throat will start making a loud sound while breathing.

Step 4. Once you are comfortable in exhaling, then while breathing, compress the throat in the same way.
