7th Pay Commission: Big announcement! Air ticket booking rules changed for central employees, government issued new order

LTC Rules Update: In the guidelines issued by the government, it was said that three registered travel agents M/s Balmer Lawrie & Company Limited (BLCL), M/s Ashok Travels & Tours (ATT) and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) will be allowed to travel by flight. Related information will have to be given.

7th Pay Commission: After increasing the dearness allowance of the employees recently, the Central Government has made another announcement. This change is regarding air ticket booking for employees going on LTC. This change has been made for the employees keeping the smooth process in mind. According to the memorandum issued by the Personnel and Training Department, the change is for those people who have not received any claim yet. Employees who book air tickets through travel agents till August 29, 2022, will get the direct benefit.

Benefit to those who book tickets through travel agents

It was said by DoPT that with this, such people will be able to claim LTC, who booked air tickets through travel agents. Also, they do not have any kind of proof. Actually, there are many employees who have not been able to claim LTC due to lack of any proof of booking. In the guidelines issued by the government, it was said that three registered travel agents M/s Balmer Lawrie & Company Limited (BLCL), M/s Ashok Travels and Tours (ATT) and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) will have to provide information related to the flight.

While booking an air ticket for LTC in the stipulated time slot, the flight fare should be 10% more than the cheapest fare. If an employee books through a registered travel agent like BLCL, ATT and IRCTC, then it will be considered that the cheapest fare has been chosen by that employee. All travel agents have been instructed to issue LTC labeled tickets for LTC travel.

In cases where non-entitled Government servants book flights directly from their headquarters to NER, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman Nicobar, Ladakh under the Special Concession Scheme, a printout of the same time slot is to be taken. If a ticket is not available in that slot then a printout of the flight of the next slot can be kept for claim settlement.
