7th Pay Commission: Big News! Government increased DA, know how much salary will increase

7th Pay Commission Latest News: Today the cabinet approved the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for Central employees. That is, now the salary of the employees will increase.




7th Pay Commission: Today the Modi government gave a big gift to the central employees. The government increased Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR). Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information. It has been increased by three percent. Now dearness allowance and relief has increased to 31 percent. Whereas earlier this rate was 28 percent.

The new rate will be applicable from July 1, 2021

The new rate hike will be applicable from July 1, 2021. This will benefit 47.14 lakh employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners. Anurag Thakur said that, in the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by PM Narendra Modi, it was approved to increase the dearness allowance and dearness relief payable to employees and pensioners by three percent. He further said that it would cost Rs 9,488 crore per year.

It is to be known that recently the government had increased dearness allowance from 17 percent to 28 percent. Due to the corona virus epidemic, the government had frozen the DA from January 2020 to June 2021 only last year. In July, the government lifted this ban.

Dearness allowance increased by 14 percent from January 2020

Earlier in January 2020, the dearness allowance was increased by four percent. Later in June 2020, it was increased by three per cent. After this, it was again increased by four percent in January 2021. Now it has increased by three per cent. In this way, there has been a total increase of 14 percent from January 2020.

Understand by example how much will be the benefit

Suppose at present the basic salary of an employee is 20 thousand rupees, then he is getting 5,600 rupees according to the dearness allowance of 28 percent. But now the DA has increased to 31 percent, so that employee will get Rs 6,200 as dearness allowance. In this way he has made a profit of Rs.600.

It is known that dearness allowance is a part of salary. DA is a fixed percentage of the basic salary of the employee. The government increases it from time to time. It is given to the employees to reduce the effect of inflation.
