7th Pay Commission: The good news that the central employees were waiting for for a long time has arrived. Dearness allowance of 50 lakh central employees and 61 lakh pensioners is going to increase from July 1. The dearness allowance of the employees is now available at the rate of 17%, which will now directly become 28%. They will see the benefit of this increase in the form of an increase in salary.

Will all the three stuck installments come?

Apart from this, the good news for the employees is that they will also be paid their stuck three installments. Central employees are currently paid DA at the rate of 17%, when this 11% will increase to 28%, then obviously the salary of the employees will increase tremendously. The employees are going to get the benefit of DA for two years directly. Because in January 2020, the dearness allowance of central employees was increased by 4 percent, then in the second half i.e. June 2020, there was an increase of 3 percent, now in January 2021, the dearness allowance has increased once again by 4 percent. That is, the total has become 28 percent. However, all these three installments have not been paid yet.

Waiting for meeting regarding DA arrears

However, the central employees are eagerly waiting for the talks to start regarding the arrears of their Dearness Allowance (DA). These talks are to be held between the National Council of JCM, headed by Central Government Employees (CGS), and central government officials from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Finance and Department of Personnel and Training. These talks were to be held in May last month, according to the National Council-JCM, now this meeting is expected to be held in this month i.e. June.

Salary will increase in this way?

At present, according to the pay matrix of central employees, the minimum salary is Rs 18000. In this, 15% dearness allowance is expected to be added. In this sense, Rs 2700 per month will be directly added to the salary. If we look at the annual basis, then the total dearness allowance will increase by Rs 32400. Now if the minimum basic pay of an employee according to the pay matrix is Rs 18,000, his salary is 18,000 x 2.57 = Rs 46,260. This salary is currently without allowances. Now allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), Traveling Allowance (TA), Medical Compensation and HRA will also be added to this salary, after which the final salary will be decided.

4% DA will increase in June also

Actually, dearness allowance for June 2021 is also to be announced. If sources are to be believed, that too is estimated to increase by 4 percent. If this happens, then after the payment of three installments on July 1, there will be a further payment of 4% in the next 6 months. Dearness allowance can reach total 32 percent. Harishankar Tiwari, former president of AG Office Brotherhood and president of Citizens Brotherhood, said that by June 2021 also, there is a possibility of a further increase of 3-4 percent in DA. With this, dearness allowance will increase to 32 percent after June 2021. At present, DA is being paid at the rate of 17%. The central government revises it every 6 months. Its calculation is done in percentage by taking Basic Pay as the basis. At present, employees and pensioners are getting separate DA.
