Today, on Monday, July 31, the numbers of the June AICPI index are to be released by the Labor Ministry, after which it will be clear that what will be the percentage increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief for the next half year. From the figures so far, a 4 percent increase in DA / DR is considered fixed, if this happens, the DA of central employees will increase from 42% to 46%. Its benefit will be given to more than 1 crore employees of the country.

4 percent increase in dearness allowance fixed

Actually, the DA of central employees is increased twice a year in January and July, the amount of increase in DA depends on the data of AICPI index released by Labor Department, which is released every month. But for DA, the data is reviewed every 6 months and on the basis of this, the first increase is in January and the second in July. According to the data of AICPI index for May 2023, dearness allowance has reached 45.58 percent and the index is at 134.7 points. In such a situation, 4% increase in DA is being considered as fixed. At present the DA of central employees is 42%, if there is a 4% increase then DA can reach 46%. Due to this, a big jump will be seen in the salary of the employees and the pension of the pensioners.

1 crore employees will be benefited

Currently the DA of central employees is 42%, which is applicable from January to June 2023. Next DA is to be applicable for July to December 2023. This will be the second hike of the year. It is expected that there will be a 4 per cent increase in DA in July, after which the DA of the employees will increase to 46 per cent. It will be implemented from July 1, 2023, in which case arrears will also be available. This will benefit 1 crore employee-pensioners. There is a possibility that the new rates of DA can be announced anytime between Raksha Bandhan and Diwali.

How much salary will increase

For example, if the basic salary of a government employee is Rs 18000, then on this he gets 42% ie Rs 7560 DA and when it is 46%, it will be Rs 8280 per month, according to this the salary will increase by Rs 720 every month. If someone’s salary is Rs 56,900, then he will get a benefit of Rs 2,276 every month and Rs 27,312 annually. If someone gets a basic pension of Rs 30,000 a month, then he gets Rs 44,400 as dearness relief. After the 4% DR hike, this money will increase to Rs 42,600, which means the pension will increase by Rs 800 every month.
