7th Pay Commission: The Central Government is going to give gifts on Holi to millions of government employees. The government is giving Rs 10,000 to Endwas to its employees under the Special Festival Advance Scheme. This decision is included in the Seventh Pay Commission. The special thing is that there will be no interest on the money taken by the employee. The scheme will remain in force till 31 March. Explain that this scheme is special because this scheme was not there when the 7th Pay Commission was implemented. In the Sixth Pay Commission, officers and employees used to get a festival advance of Rs 4,500. However, this advance will be given only once a year. This means that if a central employee has not availed this benefit before. They can take advantage of this in the festival of Holi.

Advance pre-load will be-Sitharaman

Earlier, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced that the advance being given for festivals would be pre-loaded. The money will already be in the employees’ ATMs, all they have to spend. He had told that advance of Rs 10,000 is interest free. These funds have to be deposited in easy 10 installments. That is, only one thousand rupees can be paid monthly.

400 crores estimated to be disbursed

At the same time, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur said that Rs 400 crore is estimated to be disbursed in the Festival Advance Scheme. If the state government implements this scheme, then they will incur a burden of about 800 crores. Besides, the central government is going to provide relief to its employees and pensioners. Since July, it has been decided to restore their three pending installments of dearness allowance and dearness relief.

State governments gave relief to their employees

The government of Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Tripura have given relief to their employees before Holi. Shivraj government of MP is issuing 7th pay scale arrears to employees. Earlier two installments have been paid. On the other hand, Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to release the outstanding third installment of DA in July this year. While the Tripura government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of employees and pensioners from 1 March 2021.
