The government has once again increased the DA and DR of the employees by 3%. This increase will be applicable from 1st July 2021. There is a wave of happiness among the employees after this announcement.

3% hike in DA and DR

Actually, the central government has already increased the DA of its employees to 31%. Now in this sequence, the Odisha State Government has also increased the DA and DR of the employees. Now Odisha employees will also get the benefit of 31% DA and DR like central employees.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced a 3% hike in dearness allowance for state employees and pensioners. According to the information given by the Chief Minister’s Office, this decision will benefit about 7.5 lakh employees and pensioners of the state.

Seal on 30 percent

Significantly, the state government has also decided to give 30 percent arrears to the employees under the 7th Pay Commission. The employees will get arrears of 50 percent of the increased wages between January 2016 and August 2017. Six lakh employees of the state will benefit from this decision. That is, from the beginning of the new year, the employees have become bat-bat.

After the increase made by the state government, now the dearness allowance of the employees has become 31% of the basic pay. Let us tell you that this increase will be applicable from July 1, 2021.

Central government can also increase

On the other hand, the central government can also once again increase the DA of central employees. If we look at the data of AICPI index, till September 2021, the dearness allowance has gone up to 33 percent. That is, according to this, there has been an increase of 2 percent in it.

However, the figures for October, November and December are not yet available. It is expected that it may increase further by 1 percent. If the CPI (IW) figure remains up to 125 by December 2021, then 3 percent increase in dearness allowance is certain. That is, the total DA will increase by 3% to 34 percent. It will be paid from January 2022 and the salary of central employees will increase.
