7th Pay Commission: Central employees are waiting for their salary to increase. The wait is going to end soon. Dearness allowance of employees is going to increase from 1st July onwards. The central government will release the stalled 3 installments. At present, DA is 17 per cent, which will increase to 28 per cent. Increase in Dearness Allowance (DA Hike) will directly increase the salary.
DA for two years will be available together
Employees are going to get the benefit of two years DA directly together. DA of central employees was increased by 4% in January 2020. After this, there was an increase of 3% in the second half i.e. June 2020. Now it has increased by 4% in January 2021. With this it has increased to 28%. However, all these three installments have not been paid.
How much will the salary increase?
According to the pay matrix of central employees, the minimum salary is Rs 18000. In this, 15 percent dearness allowance is expected to be added. In this sense, Rs 2700 per month will be directly added to the salary. Meaning Rs 32400 will be added annually as DA. After this, dearness allowance for June 2021 is also to be announced. If sources are to be believed, that too is estimated to increase by 4 percent. If this happens, then after the payment of three installments on July 1, there will be a further payment of 4 percent in the next six months. Dearness allowance can reach a total of 32 percent.
Currently 17% DA is available
Another 3-4% increase in DA is expected by June 2021. With this, DA will increase to 32% after June 2021. The central government revises it every 6 months. Its calculation is done in percentage by taking Basic Pay as the basis. At present, employees and pensioners are getting separate DA.
Dearness allowance was stopped last year
Last year, due to Kovid-19, the government had frozen dearness allowance from January 1, 2020 to July 1, 2021. The dearness relief (DR) amount of pensioners will also not increase till July 1, 2021. Due to this decision, the government has saved a total of Rs 37000 crore in FY 2021-2022. However, there is a demand of central employees that they should also be paid arrears from January 1. But, the central government has made it clear that arrears will not be paid. The decision regarding DA and DR in July 2021 will be implemented one by one.
