With this, an equal increase in pensioners’ pension is also possible. This will put a burden of 3500 crores on the treasury of the state government.
Employee salaries may increase by more than two times. That is, the minimum salary can be increased from Rs 6,950 to Rs 18,000 per month. The state’s Sixth Pay Commission has recommended it. An official spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office has also shared information on this.
According to the spokesperson, this increase has been recommended to take effect from January 1, 2016. Under the recommendation, salary and pension are expected to increase by an average of 20 per cent. He said that the salary of the employees could increase by 2.59 per cent as against the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission.
A report was recently submitted to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in this regard and is now sending it to the Finance Department for further study on it. According to the spokesperson, the report will be implemented from July 1 this year as per the commitment of the government in the Legislative Assembly.
