7th Pay Commission Updates: In March 2021, the Central Government announced that the dearness allowance (DA) of central employees and dearness relief (DR) for pensioners will be resumed from 1 July 2021.

March 2021, the Central Government announced that Dearness Allowance (DA) of Central Employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for Pensioners will be resumed from 1 July 2021. However, the government has not said anything about the installment payment of three outstanding dearness allowances of 1 January 2020, 1 July 2020 and 1 January 2021. The May 8 meeting with the government has also been postponed, now this meeting is expected to be held in the last week of this month.

Waiting for 3 outstanding installments of DA

On 9 March 2020, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur (Minister of State (MoS) Finance Anurag Thakur) replied in writing in the Rajya Sabha that the pending three DA installments would be included in the DA at 1 July 2021. Will go. These three pending installments of DA remain a concern for central employees. With DA reinstated from July 1, a big jump in the salaries of central employees can be seen, as it is expected that their dearness allowance may increase from the current 17 percent to 28 percent. However, if there is no decision on these installments, then there will be a big impact on the arrears of their 7th Pay Commission.

Constant negotiations are being held between officials of the National Council of JCM, Department of Personal and Training (DoPT) and Department of Expenditure in the Ministry of Finance to resolve the matrix issue of the 7th Pay Commission. An important meeting between these officers was scheduled to be held on May 8 in this regard, but due to the ever increasing corona cases in the country, this meeting has been canceled. Now this meeting can be held in the last week of this month.

DA’s 3 Pending Installments Main Issue

On the agenda of this meeting, Shiv Gopal Mishra, secretary of the National Council of JCM, Staff Side, says that we are in constant touch with the government. The payment of three installments of DA pending will be one of the main agenda, JCM has also told the central government that if it is not possible for them to pay three installments of dearness allowance at the same time, it will also give it to the central employees as partial payment. Can be issued.

DA will become 28 percent

At present, 52 lakh central employees and 65 lakh pensioners get DA and DR at the rate of 17 percent. If the increase of 3 percent of 1 January 2020, 4 percent of 1 July 2020 and a possible 4 percent of 1 January 2021 is merged, DA will increase to 28 percent from 1 July 2021. Due to this, there can be a huge jump in the salary of central employees.
