8th Pay Commission: An important update has emerged regarding the 8th Pay Commission. The Commission’s team will hold its first meeting in Dehradun on April 24, 2026, where members will interact with employees, pensioners, unions, and other organizations. The purpose of this meeting is to gather suggestions on issues related to salaries, allowances, and pensions, so that further recommendations can be formulated.
The Commission has clarified that any organization or employee wishing to meet with the team must make an appointment in advance. They must apply via email by April 10, 2026. Only then will they be informed of the meeting’s time and location.
The Commission has also sought suggestions from all stakeholders online. Employees, pensioners, and unions can submit their demands through the Commission’s official website. The deadline for submitting suggestions is April 30, 2026. This means there is still time for people to express their views.
This entire process is crucial because the salaries, allowances, and pensions of millions of government employees are determined based on the Pay Commission’s recommendations. Therefore, the Commission is visiting various locations to gather public opinion to understand every aspect.
The Commission also released a list of questions, asking employees about their salary, pension, and work experiences. The deadline for responding to these questions was March 31, 2026, which was originally set for March 16, but was later extended.
It’s worth noting that the 8th Pay Commission was constituted in November 2025 and has been given 18 months to submit its recommendations. Until the new recommendations are implemented, salaries and pensions will continue to be paid under the old system.
