CBSE Board Exam 2026: CBSE has issued new guidelines for schools and students; see complete details.

Students must carefully review their data during the LOC submission process. No changes to name, date of birth, or subject combination will be allowed after the specified deadline, which could lead to problems later on.

The LOC submission and registration process for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 board exams (CBSE Board Exam 2026) is underway. This process is crucial for both schools and students. Admit cards and results are generated based on the data submitted in the LOC form. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has once again issued a notice regarding the “List of Candidates (LOC)” for the board exams of 2026.

Schools have been provided with some important guidelines regarding the LOC submission, which they must follow. Schools will be responsible for any errors in the submitted data. Students who will be appearing for the board exams next year should carefully review the submitted data to avoid any problems in the future.

Please keep these points in mind:

The board has instructed schools to ensure that when submitting the LOI (Letter of Undertaking), the spelling of the student’s/parent’s/guardian’s name is correct and matches the school records/admission and exit registers. Schools have also been instructed to ensure that the date of birth entered is accurate and consistent with the school records and exit register. The board has emphasized the importance of adhering to the prescribed subject combinations. Subject combinations must strictly follow the study scheme. Schools have been advised to fill in the subject codes correctly.

Opportunity for corrections will also be provided

The board has also instructed schools to prepare data verification slips. After the final submission of the LOI (Letter of Intent), schools will prepare and provide a data verification slip for each candidate. Data can be updated at this stage. The notification regarding this was issued in August 2025. If any errors are found in the student’s name, parent/guardian’s name, date of birth, or subjects after the final submission date, schools will be given an opportunity to make corrections between October 13 and 27. The board will not offer any further opportunity after this period.

If a school has submitted the LOI and paid the fee within the stipulated time, and later discovers any errors in the data, the data can be corrected before the final deadline. A small additional fee may be charged for making these corrections, which the school will have to pay.
