The Meteorological Department says that due to the formation of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, rain may occur in several states.
Rain alert in which states?
According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Assam, Maghaiyalat, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, and coastal Tamil Nadu on February 23 and 24. Strong winds are also possible along with the rain.
Delhi Weather
The Meteorological Department has predicted foggy mornings in Delhi on February 24. However, the afternoon will be sunny, with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 30 degrees Celsius. The national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 29.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 4.2 degrees above the season’s average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The department said the minimum temperature was 12 degrees Celsius, 0.2 degrees above normal. According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, air quality was recorded in the “poor” category at 4 pm, with an air quality index of 229.
Rain in West Bengal
The low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal has strengthened further, but is expected to gradually shift course, leading to heavy rainfall in the southern and northern districts of Tamil Nadu over the next 48 hours. According to the latest data released by the Meteorological Department on Sunday, the low pressure area that formed yesterday over the southwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean has moved northwestward. It emerged as a strong low pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal at 5:30 am today and remained in the same region at 8:30 am.
Dry weather expected in Rajasthan
Dry weather is expected across most parts of Rajasthan next week, the Meteorological Department said on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, partly cloudy skies are expected in the southeastern parts of the state on February 23 and 24, but the weather will remain largely dry. The department said that minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to increase by two to three degrees Celsius over the next 48 hours.
Weather in Uttar Pradesh
There is currently no rain forecast for Uttar Pradesh. The weather will remain dry, and temperatures will rise. People in Lucknow, Ayodhya, and surrounding districts will face scorching heat. The Meteorological Department predicts maximum temperatures of up to 30 degrees Celsius during the day and minimum temperatures of up to 10 degrees Celsius at night.
