IMD Weather News: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms for several states in northwest and central India in the coming days. A new western disturbance is expected to become active from April 2, affecting the plains and hilly areas of northern India. Snowfall and hailstorms are likely in hilly states like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The IMD says light to moderate rain or snowfall is likely in many parts of the state on April 3 and 4. The department has issued a special warning for hailstorms on April 3 and 4. Uttarakhand is likely to experience scattered rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds, from April 3 to 6. Wind speeds can reach 40-50 kmph.

Regarding the plains, a rain alert has also been issued for rain and strong winds. The IMD has stated that states like Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh may experience light to moderate rain during this period. According to the Meteorological Department, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi may experience light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on April 3 and 4. Winds can blow at speeds of 30-50 kmph during this period.

Rain will also fall in Uttar Pradesh.

Sharing weather information for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the Meteorological Department said that rain is expected in western Uttar Pradesh on April 3 and 4. Scattered rain is expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh on April 4 and 5. In Bihar, rain accompanied by thunderstorms and winds of up to 40-50 kmph are expected on April 6 and 7.

Severe Thunderstorm Alert in Rajasthan

According to the IMD, rain and strong winds are expected in eastern Rajasthan on April 1st. Subsequently, the weather across Rajasthan is expected to remain inclement on April 3rd, 4th, and 6th. A lightning warning has also been issued for the state on April 6th and 7th. Various parts of Madhya Pradesh are expected to experience thunderstorms and winds of up to 30-50 kmph for the next five days. Particularly strong winds are expected in western Madhya Pradesh on April 2nd.

Chhattisgarh is expected to experience damaging winds of up to 50-70 kmph and hailstorms on April 1 and 2. The department has advised caution.

Temperature forecast?

Maximum temperatures in northwest India will increase by 2-4 degrees Celsius until April 3, followed by a drop of 2-4 degrees Celsius between April 4 and 6. In Madhya Pradesh, temperatures will remain unchanged until April 1, but will decrease by 2-4 degrees Celsius between April 2 and 6.
