IMD Weather News: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms for several states in northwest and central India in the coming days. A new western disturbance is expected to become active from April 2, affecting the plains and hilly areas of northern India. Snowfall and hailstorms are likely in hilly states like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The IMD says light to moderate rain or snowfall is likely in many parts of the state on April 3 and 4. The department has issued a special warning for hailstorms on April 3 and 4. Uttarakhand is likely to experience scattered rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds, from April 3 to 6. Wind speeds can reach 40-50 kmph.
Regarding the plains, a rain alert has also been issued for rain and strong winds. The IMD has stated that states like Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh may experience light to moderate rain during this period.
