Aadhaar Update: Married women can add their husband’s name instead of their father’s name to their Aadhaar card. A marriage certificate, passport, or other proof of relationship is required. This process can be completed online through the UIDAI portal or offline at the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
Aadhaar Update: If a married woman wants to add her husband’s name instead of her father’s name to her Aadhaar card, she can do so. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has simplified this process. This can now be done both online and offline.
UIDAI allows changes to relationship details. The father’s name can be removed from the Care of (C0) details in the Aadhaar card and the husband’s name added. This requires submitting certain documents.

To add the husband’s name, one of the following documents is required:
- Marriage certificate issued by a competent authority
- Passport with the husband’s name listed
- Ration card with the husband’s name listed
- Joint bank passbook
- Any proof of relationship document accepted by UIDAI
- A copy of one of these documents must be submitted with the application.
