Keep these documents with you in advance

Some important documents are required to update the address in Aadhaar, the list of which is given below.

1. Valid passport
2. Latest bank passbook or post office account details
3. Ration card
4. Voter ID card
5. Disability ID card
6. MGNREGA or NREGS employment card
7. Latest electricity bill, which is not more than 3 months old
8. Latest water bill, which is not more than 3 months old
9. Current gas connection bill (within 3 months)
10. Landline telephone, postpaid mobile or broadband bill
11. Valid life or health insurance document
12. Property tax payment receipt

Any of these documents can be used.

Follow these steps to change the address

• First of all you have to go to the UIDAI website.
• After that you have to tap on the My Aadhaar section.
• Now many options will come. Go to Update your aadhaar from them.
• Then a new page will open in front of you. You have to click on Update address in your Aadhaar from it.
• Now click on the login button. After this, you have to log in by entering your Aadhaar number and captcha code.
• To login, an OTP will come on your registered mobile number.
• After logging in, click on the Aadhaar update option.
• Now keep following all the instructions coming on the screen. Then click on Proceed to Update Aadhaar.
• Then click on Aadhaar and click on Proceed to Update Aadhaar again.
• As soon as you do this, your current address will appear. You have to scroll down and enter the new address.
• After this go to the Valid Supporting Document Type menu. Upload the scanned copy of the document and click on the Next button.
• Now you have to check all the details and then make a payment of Rs 50. After this submit it.

After filling all the details, you will get a Service Request Number (SRN) after submitting it. Keep a note of it. It will be needed later to check the status of the update.
