The farmers’ movement has gained momentum after watching a video of Indian farmer union leader Rakesh Tikait crying on Thursday evening. Panchayats in Punjab, Haryana and Western Uttar Pradesh are now keenly advancing the peasant movement. In Charkhi Dadri, Khap has taken a tough stand on the matter. Khap has decided that a man from every family in the village will join the protest demonstration on the Delhi border for 3 days. Failure to do so will impose khap penalty on the family. At the same time, Khap has also decided to socially boycott the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party and Jananayak Janata Party. Khap has stated in a strict tone that if a leader of these parties comes to them, they will tear his clothes.

It is known that Panchayat of all castes was called on behalf of Phogat Khap. Together, everyone has prepared to open a front against the government. It was also decided to boycott the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Jananayak Janata Party in the Mahapanchayat of Khap. It was decided in the meeting of the all-inclusive Daddan Khap Chabutra Palawan on Friday that people from every village would be sent to join the protest on the Delhi borders against the three new agricultural laws. In a meeting held on the platform of Khap under the chairmanship of Khap’s head Dalbir Kheri Mansania, the incident on the Red Fort complex on Republic Day demanded an inquiry by a retired judge of the Supreme Court.

The meeting also demanded cancellation of cases registered on farmers and release of tractors caught by Delhi Police. During this, the speakers alleged that the government wanted to discredit the peasant movement. Sources associated with Khap said that it was decided in the meeting that Khap will send people from every village to the demonstration going on the Delhi border.

He said that it was decided in the meeting that one member from every family of every village would take part in this movement. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait was appreciated at the meeting. Khap general secretary Azad Palawan said that the youth should exercise restraint in the movement as this fight is to fight with restraint and discipline. During this time, Khap Pradhan Mansania said that the farmers are peacefully staging a demand for their rights and all the people are with the farmer leader Rakesh Tikait.

At the same time, in a meeting held in Karsindhu village, people decided to reach the Delhi border with maximum tractors. It is noteworthy that on Republic Day, most tractors from the region went to Karsindhu village in the Farmers Tractor Parade in Delhi. Along with this, a meeting of villagers was also held in Uchana Kalan village in which it was decided to ensure participation of one person from every family in the farmers movement.

At the same time, it was decided to strengthen the peasant movement in the panchayat held in Kakodod village. With this, a meeting of Khap-Panchayats of the district has been called on 30 January.

Let me tell you that today a group of more than 200 people threw stones at the site of the farmers’ protest on the Singhu border and tried to uproot the tents of the farmers. Two policemen were injured during this period. A policeman was injured by a sword during the skirmish. Violence erupted on the Singhu border this afternoon amid a state of tension created since the Republic Day violence.
