Fire officer Jayesh Khadia said that after the crash, the plane caught fire and fire engines were sent to the spot to douse the fire. According to sources, former Gujarat Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Vijay Rupani was also on board the plane. The NDRF said in a statement that its three teams comprising 90 personnel have been sent from Gandhinagar to the plane crash site. A total of three more teams are being sent from Vadodara.

Directorate of Air Warfare (DAW), Assistant Directors of Air Warfare (ADAW) and a Flight Operation Inspector (FOI) are already in Ahmedabad. They are investigating the causes of the accident.’
