Air India: Air India has given a big information on Monday. Air India said that it will stop non-stop flights between Delhi and Washington DC from September 1. The airline said that this step is being taken to maintain the reliability and stability of its entire route network. In its press note, the airline said that the main reason for stopping the flight is the temporary shortage in its fleet, as it has started upgrading its 26 Boeing 787-8 aircraft since last month.

The airline said that many aircraft will not be in service for a long time during this major retrofit program to improve the passenger experience, and this situation may persist at least till the end of 2026. Air India also said that the continuous closure of Pakistani airspace has lengthened the route of flights, causing additional difficulties in operating its long-haul flights.
Booking will be done after September
Passengers who have booked tickets on the Delhi-Washington route after September will be contacted by Air India. They will be given other travel options as per their choice, such as rebooking on another flight or getting a full refund. Despite the flights being stopped, passengers will be able to travel to Washington D.C. via New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Chicago and San Francisco. For this, Air India’s interline partners – Alaska Airlines, United Airlines and Delta Air Lines – will cooperate, which will allow passengers to travel to the final destination on a single ticket with checked-in luggage.
