Airtel has shocked millions of users by discontinuing the Perplexity Pro AI subscription bundled with its recharges. However, users are now offered free access to Adobe Express Premium.
Millions of Airtel users have been dealt a severe blow. In a shocking move, the company has discontinued the thousands of rupees worth of free subscriptions included with its recharge plans. The company stated that customers will no longer receive a Perplexity Pro AI subscription upon recharging. However, Airtel had stated at the time of launching this offer that it was not a long-term free benefit and was only available for a limited time.
What was the Perplexity Pro offer?
Airtel started offering a Perplexity Pro subscription with its recharge plans last year as a temporary benefit. It cost ₹17,000, but was offered free to Airtel users. Initially, Airtel clarified that the offer would only be valid until January 16, 2026. Now, after this period has expired, Airtel has removed the offer from its prepaid plans.
Will this offer impact users who claimed it?
Users who claimed the offer before January 16 will not be affected by the offer’s termination. They will be able to enjoy the service as before. Their subscription will be valid for one year from the date the offer was activated. On the other hand, users who recharged after January 16 will not receive this benefit.
One offer ended, another arrived.
Airtel users need not be disappointed by this offer’s termination. While Airtel users won’t receive a Perplexity Pro subscription, they can now gain free access to Adobe Express Premium. Airtel announced its partnership with Adobe last week. Under this plan, Airtel’s 360 million users will receive free access to Adobe Express Premium. With an annual subscription fee of approximately ₹4,000, this plan will allow users to enjoy Adobe’s generative artificial intelligence capabilities and other features for free. As for Jio, the company offers a free subscription to Google Gemini with its recharge plans.
