Apart from this, the company has also started a double benefit offer on a recharge plan of Rs 79. Similar offers are also being offered by competing telecom companies Vi (Vodafone Idea) and Jio.
In Airtel prepaid recharge plan of Rs 49, customers will get talk time of Rs 38. Not only this, 100MB of free data will also be given in it. Its validity will be 28 days. Calling will not be unlimited in this. Local and national calls will be charged 60 paise per minute in the plan. This offer can be availed only once per connection.
Apart from freeing the Rs 49 recharge plan, the company has doubled the benefits available to its low-income customers in a Rs 79 combo voucher. This combo voucher used to get talk time of Rs 64, but now customers will get talk time of Rs 128. Apart from this, it will get 200MB data and 28 days validity as before.
Airtel says that this Rs 49 plan will be made available to 55 million low-income customers. This means that the company is giving a total benefit of Rs 269.5 crore to all its low-income customers. The company said “With these offers, Airtel customers, especially those from rural areas, will be securely connected with theirs and will be able to access all the necessary information in this challenging time.”
Like Airtel, Vi has also offered similar offers. The company is offering free recharge plan of Rs 49 to its 60 million low-income customers and is also offering double talk time in Rs 79 plan. Vi’s Rs 49 plan offers the same Rs 38 talk time, but if customers recharge this pack through the company’s official website or app, they will get 200MB of additional data. This will give customers a total of 300MB of data. For calling, customers will have to pay a charge of 2.5 paise per second. At the same time, talk time of Rs 128 will be available in the plan of 79 rupees.
Jio is also offering a special offer to its customers. The country’s leading network provider company will get 300 minutes of outgoing calls daily, ie 10 minutes per month to its Jio phone customers. Apart from this, Jio has also announced a free recharge on the recharge of each Jio Phone plan.
