Airtel XStream Fiber on Tuesday launched Secure Internet to help customers block malware, high-risk websites and apps. This online service will prevent cyber threats by leveraging Airtel’s network security system for all devices connected to Airtel Xstream Fiber through ‘WiFi’.
The company says that ‘Secure Internet’ will offer different security modes ranging from remote working to different needs of customers. The Child Safe and Study mode will allow customers to block websites and applications containing unwanted, adult or graphic content that are not suitable for children, thereby protecting them from online threats to a particularly vulnerable section of the society.
99 rupees will have to be spent on monthly subscription
Airtel Internet Secure will be available for all Airtel Xstream Fiber customers on a monthly subscription of Rs 99 and the service comes with a complimentary trial of 30 days after which it will be billed. The service can be easily activated or deactivated through the Airtel Thanks app.
According to data compiled by CERT-In, India witnessed a 300 percent increase in cyber attacks during 2020. According to the 6th Annual Norton Cyber Safety Insights Report, about 59 percent of Indian adults have been victims of cybercrime in the last 12 months. To address these major emerging challenges for its customers, Airtel notes that its secure internet service will offer multiple security modes ranging from remote working to online classes for different needs of the customers.
