Alert for customers, LIC has made a big change in the rules, applicable from May 10

What is the new rule: Under the new rule, only 5 days work will be done in LIC office in the week commencing from 10th May. Now every week on Saturday will also be considered as public holiday. This means that now if you go to LIC office on Saturday, then you will have to return back. This means to say that now if you have to go to LIC office to settle your work, then go between Monday to Friday. Let me tell you here that earlier the weekly holiday was celebrated only on Sunday, but now after the new rule, there will be two consecutive days of holiday.

What will be the timing: According to the new rule, the working time in the LIC office will be from 10 am to 5.30 pm for Monday to Friday. Apart from this, Saturday and Sunday will be a holiday. Recently, the government has made this change on the basis of the power given under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881. Earlier there were reports that the salary of LIC employees would be increased by up to 25 per cent. It will benefit about 1.14 lakh employees of LIC.

Focus on digital in Corona era : In the Corona era, many facilities are being provided by LIC from home through digital medium. You can get the status of policy, loan and claim status in addition to LIC policy payment in a digital way. Apart from this, PAN and NEFT registration work can also be done sitting at home.

Record earnings from premiums: Let us tell you that LIC has made record earnings from premiums in the last financial year. This earning figure is Rs 1.84 lakh crore, which is the highest ever. The company’s market share stood at 81.04 percent in March 2021, by policy number. The share stood at 74.58 percent for the entire financial year.


The company sold a total of 2.10 crore policies during the year of which 46.72 lakhs were sold in March alone. According to LIC, the insurance company added 3,45,469 new agents in the last financial year. With this, the number of his agents increased to 13,53,808.
