Prime Video Channels will provide Prime members the option to stream their content on the Amazon Prime Video app and website in India.
Prime Video Channels: Streaming platform Amazon Prime Video has launched its entertainment marketplace Prime Video Channel in India. Prime members of Amazon can take add-on subscription of Prime Video channel with OTT services, that means Prime subscribers will have to pay separately to take advantage of this. Playing the role of a mediator, Prime Video channels will provide Prime members the option to stream their content on the Amazon Prime Video app and website in India, a statement said.
Amazon Prime Video reaches 4,400 cities and towns
Chaitanya Dewan, Head of Prime Video Channel told Brandwagon Online, “We have access to a large population of India. Amazon Prime Video is watched in 99% of India’s pin codes i.e. 4,400 cities and towns. Prime Video as an app is already being viewed on hundreds of devices such as smart TVs, mobile phones and personal devices. This reach of our consumers is very important for our partners.”
Eight OTT apps on one platform
The over-the-top (OTT) platform is currently associated with eight platforms including discovery+, Lionsgate Play, Docubay, Eros Now, MUBI, hoichoi, Manorama Max, Shorts TV and is in talks with other platforms. The Prime Video channel, which was first launched in the US five years ago, was well received by both the customers as well as the partner platform. Currently, this service is available in 12 countries including India and has more than 350 partner platforms. Under this, customers will have to pay only for those services, which they choose. Amazon Prime Video executive Gaurav Gandhi said that the company has always focused on improving accessibility, experience and selection for its customers.
