Sleeper waiting hall charge:Director Kanpur Central Station Ashutosh Singh said that Railways has decided to hand over Kanpur Central’s high class i.e. AC waiting hall as well as retiring rooms and dormitories to private hands.
An important information for those who sit for hours in the waiting hall of the railway station, waiting for the train, the railway administration has decided to hand over the sleeper waiting hall of Kanpur Central station to private hands. On August 28, the Railways will completely hand over it to the private company. Now the charge will have to be paid according to the hour in the sleeper waiting hall. By the way, the charge has been made permanent in the Railways at ₹ 10 per hour. There will also be a canteen in this meeting hall, so that the common traveler can also have tea. For the first time, the Railways has decided to give the waiting hall to a private company. Till now the waiting hall was operated by the Railways and there was no charge for it.
Director Kanpur Central Station Ashutosh Singh told that the company will start maintenance of sleeper waiting hall from 1st August. The sleeper waiting hall will be closed for passengers from the midnight of 31st July. Food and drink facilities will also be available here. A company from Darjeeling has got a contract on lease for 5 years. The repair and operation will be done by the company itself.
