Bank Holiday 2023: RBI changed the holiday date, now stock market and banks will remain closed on this day, see details inside

Bank Holiday 2023- In some states of the country, due to Bakrid, there will be a holiday in banks on 28 June, while in some states there will be a holiday on 29 June. There will be no trading in the stock market on June 29 due to Bakrid.

Bank Holiday: On the occasion of Bakrid, the date of stock market holiday (Bakrid share market Holiday) has been changed. Now June 29 will be a holiday. The first holiday was announced on 28 June on the occasion of Bakrid. That announcement has now been cancelled. Today i.e. on 27th June, RBI informed that now there will be no trading in Government Security, Forex and Money Market on 29th June. All settlements due on June 29 will now be settled on the next business day, June 30. Similarly, NSE has also revised the stock market holidays. Now there will be no trading in the markets on 29th. Earlier the holiday was announced on 28th. Because of this, the expiry of the month of June will be done a day earlier on 28th June. Commodity markets will also remain closed on 29th January.

At the same time, on the occasion of Bakrid, there will be a holiday in banks on 28 and 29 June. Banks will not remain closed on both the days in the entire country. Due to the celebration of Bakrid on 28th June in some cities, there will be a holiday tomorrow, so in the cities where Bakrid will be celebrated on 29th June, banks will not open the day after tomorrow.

What did the Reserve Bank say

According to a report by CNBC TV18 Hindi, the Reserve Bank said in a statement that the Maharashtra government has declared June 29, 2023 as a public holiday. Due to this, the holiday announced on June 28 has been cancelled. On this basis, there will be no transaction or settlement in government securities, foreign exchange, money market and rupee interest rate derivatives on June 29. All settlements due on June 29 will be completed on the next business day i.e. June 30, 2023.

Where and when will the bank be closed

Banks in Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed on June 28 on the occasion of Bakrid. Similarly on June 29 New Delhi, Srinagar, Chandigarh, Imphal, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Agartala, Bengaluru, Aizawl, Panaji, Patna, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Shillong, Shimla, Bhopal, Guwahati and There will be holiday in banks in Kanpur.

Banks will remain closed for 15 days in July

Banks are going to remain closed for a total of 15 days in July. However, not all banks in all states will remain closed for 15 days. According to the list, banks are going to remain closed on the basis of holidays of different states. According to the bank holiday list, in the case of regional festivals, banking operations will be halted only in the concerned state on that day. According to RBI, every bank has a weekly holiday i.e. Sunday and second and fourth Saturdays.
