Bank Holiday: All banks will be closed on Wednesday! Check RBI holiday list

Bank Holiday: Banks are going to be closed today on Wednesday. All public and private sector banks will remain closed on 4 September 2024. This time in the month of September, public and private sector banks of India will remain closed for a total of 15 days.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays for September 2024.

Banks closed on death anniversary of Srimanta Shankardev in Assam

Banks will remain closed in Assam on Wednesday, 4 September 2024. This day is celebrated as the Tirobhava Tithi (death anniversary) of Srimanta Shankardev. Srimanta Shankardev was a great saint, poet, playwright and social reformer who led the Bhakti movement in Assam and played an important role in the propagation of Vaishnavism. Banks will remain closed in Assam on Wednesday to celebrate his death anniversary with reverence and respect.

Major Bank Holidays in September 2024

September 7 (Saturday): Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Goa on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

September 8 (Sunday): Banks will remain closed in all states.

September 14 (Saturday): Banks will remain closed in Kerala and Jharkhand on the occasion of Karma Puja and first Onam. It is also the second Saturday, so banks will remain closed in all states.

15 September (Sunday): Banks will remain closed in all states.

16 September (Monday): Banks will remain closed in many states on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi.

17 September (Tuesday): Banks will remain closed in Sikkim and Chhattisgarh on account of Indrajatra and Milad-un-Nabi.

18 September (Wednesday): Banks will remain closed in Sikkim on the occasion of Pang-Lhabsol.

20 September (Friday): Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar on the day after Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi.

21 September (Saturday): Banks will remain closed in Kerala on the occasion of Sri Narayana Guru Samadhi Diwas.

22 September (Sunday): Banks will remain closed in all states.

23 September (Monday): Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar on the occasion of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s birthday.

28 September (Saturday): Banks will remain closed in all states on fourth Saturday.

September 29 (Sunday): Banks will remain closed in all states.
