Bank Holiday: Banks are going to be closed for 2 days in many states of the country due to Eid. Eid-e-Milad festival will be celebrated in the country on 5th and 6th September. Public and private sector banks will be closed on both these days. If you are planning to go to the bank, then first check whether the banks are open in your state or not.

Banks will be closed on Friday 5th September

Banks are going to be closed on Friday 5th September. Banks will be closed in many cities including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad due to Eid-e-Milad and Thiruvonam. However, apart from these, banks will remain open in other states of the country. Eid-e-Milad un-Nabi, also known as Milad-e-Sharif or Bara Wafat, is a very special day for the Muslim community. It is celebrated in memory of the birthday of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Saheb. At the same time, Thiruvonam i.e. Onam festival is the biggest festival of Kerala.

Banks will remain closed on Saturday 6 September

September 6 will be the first Saturday of the month. Banks remain open on the first Saturday. However, banks will remain closed due to Eid-e-Milad and Indrajatra in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur and Srinagar.

September 3 (Wednesday): Karma Puja in Ranchi.

September 4 (Thursday): Onam in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

September 5 (Friday): Eid-e-Milad/Thiruvonam in many cities including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad.

September 6 (Saturday): Eid-e-Milad/Indrajatra in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur and Srinagar.

September 12 (Friday): Friday after Eid-e-Milad in Jammu and Srinagar.

September 22 (Monday): Navratri Sthapana in Jaipur.

September 23 (Tuesday): Maharaja Hari Singh Jayanti in Jammu and Srinagar.

29 September (Monday): Maha Saptami/Durga Puja in Agartala, Gangtok and Kolkata.

30 September (Tuesday): Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami in many cities including Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi.

Weekly holidays

Apart from festivals, like every month, this time too there will be holidays on weekends.
