Indian Overseas Bank: After the death of a loved one, visiting the bank is often a difficult task for a family. However, this problem may now be over. To this end, the state-owned Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has launched an online portal for death claim settlement. Through this portal, claims up to ₹15 lakh will be settled within 15 days. Users will be able to apply, upload documents, and track the status from the comfort of their homes.

Notably, claims up to ₹15 lakh will not require a third-party guarantee. The bank states that this initiative has been introduced to provide relief to families during difficult times. This will eliminate the need for frequent visits to banks. This step has been taken in accordance with RBI guidelines aimed at simplifying and making the claims process transparent.

The portal also features a real-time tracking system. This allows claim users to monitor the status of their applications at every stage. The bank claims that all eligible claims will be settled within 15 days. The bank states that this initiative aims to provide relief to families during difficult times and facilitate digital access to services. This move is considered a significant step towards the bank’s digital transformation.

How to Upload Documents

  • Go to digital.iob.bank.in/deathclaimonline.
  • Click on New Claim.
  • Select whether the claim is with a nomination.
  • Enter your mobile number, Aadhaar number, and captcha code.
  • Accept the terms and conditions.
  • After submitting your application, you will receive a reference number. This number will allow claimants to track their claim status online.

The bank provided significant relief to the families of the deceased.

IOB also launched its new corporate website. This website is based on a modern digital platform and aims to provide a seamless and improved online experience for customers. The bank states that this move is part of its digital transformation, aiming to reduce the burden on families and simplify the process.
