This festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil and is celebrated with great pomp all over India. This festival is celebrated on the Dashami date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. This year, there will be holidays in banks across the country on the occasion of Dussehra, which will fall on different dates according to the state.

Bank Holidays on the occasion of Dussehra:

This year, on the occasion of Dussehra, banks will be closed for 4 days in some states. Apart from this, banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days in the month of October due to festivals and weekend holidays in the state. These include all Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays.

List of Bank Holidays during Dussehra:

October 11: Dussehra (Mahastami/Mahanavami)/Ayudha Puja – Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya.

October 12: Vijayadashami (Mahanavami/Vijayadashami) – Banks will remain closed in all states, as it is also the second Saturday of the month.

October 13: Sunday – Weekly holiday in all banks.

October 14: Dashain/Durga Puja – Banks will remain closed in Sikkim.

Other important bank holidays:

October 16: Laxmi Puja – Banks will remain closed in Tripura and Bengal.

October 17: Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti/Kati Bihu – Banks will remain closed in Karnataka, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh.

October 31: Diwali (Deepawali)/Kali Puja – Banks will remain closed in most states.

Online banking services will remain operational during these holidays, allowing you to enjoy digital transactions and services.
