Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed on Guru Nanak Jayanti on 27th November?, check holidays of all states

Guru Nanak Jayanti Bank Holiday: According to a list published by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), holidays are celebrated in banks. In the month of November it was told that banks would remain closed for a total of 15 days. Apart from the second and fourth Saturdays, it also includes Sundays.

Guru Nanak Jayanti Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed in many states of the country on Monday i.e. 27 November 2023 on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti/Kartika Purnima. Gurupurab is known for Guru Nanak Jayanti. Kartik Purnima i.e. the first full moon of November or December, is celebrated as the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born on this day in the year 1469.

27 November (Monday) – Guru Nanak Jayanti / Kartika Purnima / Rahas Purnima – Tripura, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Hyderabad, Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Bihar. Banks are closed in Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh.

Long weekend

A long weekend will also be observed in these states as it is the fourth Saturday, followed by a holiday on Sunday and Monday due to Guru Nanak Jayanti/Kartika Purnima.

Banks will remain closed in many states, but banks will not remain closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim, Assam, Manipur, Kerala, Goa, Bihar and Meghalaya.
